Nannyberry

Nannyberry (Viburnum lentago)

Light: Part shade to full sun
Moisture: moist to wet
Soil: loam, clay loam
Mature Height: Small - up to 4.5m (15 ft)
Current Height: 60 cm (24") in a 2 gallon pot

"An easy to grow, wide-spreading bush that provides year-round interest, with showy white flowers in spring followed by a rich burgundy fall color and blue berries in winter. Prefers average loam soil in sunny or partly shaded locations. Makes a great privacy hedgerow, or can be pruned back to a small tree by removing suckers at the base. Berries provide a consistent food source for birds right into the winter. The berries are edible right off the bush and popular in jams and jellies. Prune back old flower heads to promote new flowers." (onplants.ca)
